The seven ‘collective impact’ teams

The Pride House Tokyo consortium is made up of seven teams comprised of NPOs, individuals, Pride House Tokyo 2019 sponsoring companies, and various Tokyo-based embassies and delegations. who together will be planning, working and gathering content ahead of the autumn events. These events will not only be hosted in subaCO but, depending on the project, in other parts of the capital city too – though details may change at the last minute.

  • Education and diversity awareness

    Mission
    Provide educational content and host events that will help widely promote the understanding and awareness of the diversity of families and sexualities.

  • Culture・History・Archives

    Mission
    Develop the content and archives of and spread awareness both domestically and overseas of the history and culture of Japan’s LGBT community.

    ◎Audiovisual content on the history of the LGBT community, and recent Japanese LGBT culture
    ◎2000 people portrait exhibition of the「OUT IN JAPAN」Coming Out Photo Project
    ◎Movie nights with ‘LGBT & sports’ themes

  • Sexual Health and Consultation center

    Mission
    Disseminate information on sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV, and on the physical, mental, emotional and social aspects of sexual health. The center will also provide a safe and secure consultation center for those people who may be facing difficult situations and are in need of help.

  • Athlete Messages

    Mission
    To increase the number of allies and supporters who can spread awareness with positive messages and acts in the sporting world – a place where LGBT members can be especially subject to strong discrimination and prejudice.

  • Festivals ・Sports events・Volunteers

    Mission
    Hosting sporting and sports-related events where anyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identification can participate and recognize the richness of diversity. This will provide a platform where many people can participate in the operations of the event.

  • Safe spaces

    Creating space spaces, especially for LGBT youth, so they can have a place that is safe and secure, provide peer support from members of the same age group, while also providing one-on-one consultations.
