Pride House Tokyo 2019 OPEN

Friday, September 20, 2019 – Holiday Monday, November 4, 2019 13:00-18:00 (Closed on Tuesdays)
Pride House Tokyo is a pop-up information center timed to leverage the momentum ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic games, and aimed at promoting the understanding of LGBT and other sexual minorities through events and content related to diversity provided in cross-sector collaboration by a multitude of organizations, individuals and companies.

Pride House Tokyo also aims to create a legacy beyond 2020 where the next generation LGBT youth can gather safely in a permanent location.

The Pride House Tokyo consortium has already begun on this year’s project ‘Pride House Tokyo 2019’ which will be timed to take advantage of the excitement with the rugby games this autumn from September 20 (Friday) to November 4th (Holiday Monday).

This pop-up hospitality center will provide positive information about LGBT and other sexual minorities and serve as a safe space welcoming LGBT athletes, their families and fans and locals.

The Pride House Tokyo 2019 center will be located in ‘subaCO’, a charity-themed community space in Harajuku, Tokyo and will become a place to learn about ‘LGBT and Sports’ and our projects for 2020. On display in the center will be panels with information created by our seven teams, and we will also host weekend events in where everyone can join in and participate.

More immediately, we also plan to participate in the pride parades of New York, USA, and Amsterdam, Holland to promote the Pride House project.
