In May 2020, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), published the results of its 2019 survey on LGBTI people in the EU Member States, North Macedonia and Serbia.
The results showed that compared to the first such survey conducted in 2012, more LGBTI people are now open about who they are but that fear, violence and discrimination remain high.
This online survey was conducted on individuals aged 15 years and older who self-identified as LGBTI, garnering 140,000 respondents from 30 countries.
